Safety Officer Gonzalez and Sons Equipment 14450 NW 102nd Avenue, Hialeah, FL 33018 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role involves conducting safety training, performing inspections, and developing safety protocols to minimize risks and enhance workplace safety. Duties Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and company standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Prepare detailed reports on safety inspections, incidents, and compliance audits. Provide training to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, first aid, CPR, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with management to develop training programs that enhance employee awareness of workplace safety. Stay updated on changes in workers’ compensation law, environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations, and industry best practices. Assist in the fabrication of safety equipment or modifications as necessary to improve workplace conditions. Qualifications Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a relevant industry. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation law, and EHS standards. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred; additional certifications in safety management are a plus. Experience in training development and delivery is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
