We are currently seeking someone who is willing to work in the Central Florida region. In this role the successful candidate will oversee, guide, and manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies within assigned business units. Collaborate with operational leadership to implement, maintain, and enhance the WS Environmental, Health, and Safety Program. Provide EH&S leadership and direction in partnership with senior management within the assigned business units. Always acts with integrity and displays professionalism. Manage, budget, and forecast upcoming needs to support all business unit activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Safety Program Implementation
- Implement & work to continuous improvement of the WS EH&S Program to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Focus on STCKY hazards and work with project teams to develop and implement controls. Policy Enforcement
- Work with business unit leaders to ensure that all WS EH&S policies and procedures are being applied through all assigned business units. Collaboration with Operations
- Build strong relationships with operations leadership to support business unit operations. Communicate regularly with leadership in order to discuss and evaluate issues and needs of each business unit. Work closely with leadership to forecast upcoming needs for safety professionals. Regulatory Compliance
- Stay updated on local, state, and federal safety regulations. Work with leadership to ensure that updates are communicated and implemented effectively within assigned business units. Assist preconstruction with preplanning safety related needs on up coming projects as needed. Coach, mentor, and develop assigned safety managers. Billing
- Track time for assigned safety managers.
Forecast billing for all assigned safety professionals. Serve as an integrated partner and expert advisor to project stakeholders, and as a primary liaison with owners and clients for EH&S matters involving day-to-day construction project activities. Establish project-specific EH&S strategic and operational plan, inclusive of high-risk activities, with clear and quantifiable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and milestones. Communicate plan to project leadership and with project team, and Trade partners responsible for scope of work to implement plan. Manages safety program, policies, & procedures within assigned business units. Assists with planning project specific safety needs, training, and challenges. Work directly with subcontractors to help implement WS safety program requirements. Work in collaboration with Human Resources, participate in project EH&S recruiting, onboarding, development, career progression, and succession for sustained staffing pipeline that meets forecasted requirements and results in retention. Evaluate qualifications and capabilities of employees leading safety efforts and determine developmental activities to increase employees’ safety, leadership, and construction process knowledge. hour, LOTO, MEWP, Telehandler, Competent Person, etc. Incident Investigation
- Conduct, assist, and instruct process for effective incident investigations.
Review all incident investigations for assigned business units. Assist in the collection of pertinent information related to incident investigations. Conduct Learning events after incidents and develop lessons learned to be shared with the organization. Travel required
Technical Skills:
Extensive knowledge of 29 CFR 1926 and other documents and publications incorporated by reference Incident investigation Functional knowledge of general construction operations Claims Management Experienced in managing others with the ability to delegate and direct multiple safety managers and build a cohesive team Well versed in Confined Space Safety Requirements Well versed in
Excavation Safety Requirements MS Office Proficiency Qualifications:
10+ Years of construction safety experience
OSHA 500 CHST ASP/CSP
