Position Overview
A well-established construction firm is seeking a highly experienced Lead Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of construction safety across a wide range of projects. This is a critical leadership role focused on developing and enforcing safety programs, conducting training, performing jobsite inspections, and cultivating a strong safety culture within the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of safety regulations, hands-on construction experience, and proven leadership in managing safety at multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures for commercial construction environments.
Lead safety training programs on topics such as hazard recognition, fall protection, equipment usage, and OSHA compliance.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of job sites to identify risks and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and subcontractors to implement and enforce safety programs.
Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
Promote a proactive safety culture through meetings, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
Monitor and interpret changes in local, state, and federal safety regulations and implement adjustments as necessary.
Maintain accurate and thorough records of training sessions, inspections, incident reports, and corrective actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction safety leadership.
Deep understanding of OSHA regulations, construction methods, and site-specific risk mitigation strategies.
Proficient in safety management systems and reporting software.
Preferred Certifications
