Job Description
Transit Manager 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 25 Justice Way, Dawsonville, GA 30534 This position is responsible for the supervision and management of transportation operations for Dawson County Transit; these duties include performing all administrative duties, grant and requests for proposals for operations with GDOT, FTA, DHS, Legacy Link and any other contractors for transit, management of the division budget, maintaining DOT compliance; planning and coordinating training activities, and overseeing maintenance operations.
Job Requirements:
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older. A high school diploma or equivalent; an Associates’ Degree is preferred, plus two (2) years of experience in transportation, grant management, training, supervising, coordinating others and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Applicant must have ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations, to count fare box money, report and submit weekly deposits. Completion of the Substance Abuse Management Workshop and Reasonable Suspicion Training as required by the D.O.T. Applicant must pass the following after hiring, if not already trained, in the following:

Pass Training•2 years CPR•2 years

Drug and Alcohol Training•2 years
GDOT ADA
•yearly GDOT Procurement•yearly Annual training in ADA & Sensitivity including Bloodborne Pathogens, Customer Service, Defensive Driving, Distracted Driving, Drugs and Alcohol, Passenger Safety, Transporting Non-Ambulatory Passengers, Problem Passengers, and Wheelchair Securement and other County required training. Administer and supervise training for employees. Applicant must have possession a driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Applicant must pass a background check and drug screening.
