Job Description
Food Safety Quality Systems Supervisor 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA 30349 This position is responsible for supervising and facilitating daily raw material inspections and related duties at the receiving docks, on the assembly lines, shipping lines and in the storage locations of the Atlanta facility and supporting facilities. This position will also supervise the quality inspections on the assembly lines. This position will also assist in managing documentation regarding SQF internal audits and procedures in the QC software. Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Responsibilities:
Maintain schedules of reporting staff to support production activities Support and facilitate quality inspections of incoming raw materials, fruit, meats and finished gifts. Support and Facilitate quality inspections on assembly lines and shipping lines. Collect samples, conduct evaluations, record data and communicate information effectively. Ensure compliance with specifications, ingredient labeling requirements, and applicable laws. Conduct(s) quality evaluations of aging materials, gifts and expiring inventory. Evaluate shipping and storage damage as required, control movement of material through placement of “Holds”. Maintain documentation of processes/procedures in QC software Maintain environmental monitoring program at Atlanta facility and supporting facilities Facilitate Internal Auditing Team in Atlanta Facility Verify activities as identified in procedures at off-site facilities Evaluate inspection reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities Attend test pack meetings to understand specifications and verify all legal and quality requirements are met Communicate trends to Management to initiate documented investigation and partake in the investigation Train new QC personnel Be able to provide guidelines of releasing holds and executing them with proper documentation Foster a respectful team environment that supports Workplace Values through professional communication, motivation and timely problem resolution Maintain and actively support safety programs by immediately addressing safety issues Ensure compliance with all department procedures and standards Good intermediate math skills (including percentages, fractions, and decimals) are required Must be able to work in cooler or freezer for short periods of time Must be able to stand/walk/climb stairs 8-10 hours per day Must be able to work a flexible schedule with some overtime and weekends Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. 30lb max frequently/ occasional 50lbs
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred 1+ year quality control experience in a food/warehousing environment preferred 2+ years of supervisory/management experience required. PCQI Certification preferred SQF Audit experience preferred Intermediate Office Software skills required (Word, PowerPoint, Access) Warehousing Management (SAP/Oracle) and other software experience (ETQ/Genesis/PLM) preferred Must have Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record Demonstrated comprehension skills are required in order to understand general label requirements, lot code formats, procedures, diagrams, flow charts and written specifications.
