OurHealth and Safety team is leading on wide-ranging initiatives tomake Primient an industry leader in all aspects of Health andSafety – from switching away from coal power to providing apsychologically safe working environment. A Corn Wet Milling Health and Safety Manager is responsible forensuring the safety and well-being of employees, as well as theprotection of the environment within a facility. This includes thedevelopment and implementation of Health & Safety programs, andday-to-day support for health & safety initiatives for allproduction areas.
Key responsibilities:
Health & Safety Site Manager Management:
This position has 6 direct reports;
EnvironmentalManager, Environmental Coordinator, EHS Coordinator, Health &Safety Specialist, EHS Administrator, and Safety Technician Safety Culture:
Overseeing employee and contractor trainingprograms, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuringcompliance with OSHA regulations.
Industrial Hygiene:
Establishing and maintaining industrialhygiene monitoring and reporting programs.
Emergency Response:
Acting as a liaison with authorities duringemergencies involving the plant.
Reporting:
Meeting all reporting requirements for federal,state, and local regulations.
Regulatory Communication:
Interfacing with regulatory agenciesduring audits and permit updates.
Developing and Implementing Policies and Procedures:
Creatingand enforcing safety policies.
Inspection and Risk Assessment:
Conducting regular inspectionsand risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Training and Communication:
Providing training programs andcommunicating safety protocols to employees.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Keeping track of safety metrics andpreparing reports for management
Legal Compliance:
Staying updated with relevant laws andregulations and ensuring compliance.
Employee Well-being:
Fostering a culture of safety andwell-being among employees.
Continuous Improvement:
Continuously seeking ways to improvesafety and environmental practices.
About You Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety,or a related field
Experience:
At least 10 years of experience in a Health &Safety role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting,corn wet milling experience a plus
Skills:
Strong knowledge of OSHAand other relevant regulations;excellent communication skills; ability to conduct risk assessmentsand develop safety programs
Leadership:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,proven ability to lead, motivate, and build consensus, strongplanning, organizational, and time management skills, demonstratedinitiative, accountability, and a results-oriented mindset Total Rewards The annual pay range estimated for this position is$120,551.20 – $150,689.00 and is bonus eligible. Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum ofcompensation available for this role, individual compensation willbe determined based on several factors including your experience,skills, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities.
