WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Director of EHS Programs leads, monitors, and advises the Division Safety managers and Safety Support Supervisor by overseeing initiatives that support the companys safety strategic plan, while overseeing all aspects of the safety program.

Job duties include:

Communicate daily with EHS Manager(s) to ensure EHS consistency throughout all divisions and maintain open lines of communication with Operations VPs and escalate issues as needed. Direct priorities for team, approve travel plans, and expense reports for EHS team. Support all investigations, including accident, near miss, and emergency events to ensure all policies are followed, and investigations are thorough. Oversee all EHS Regulatory activity throughout the country to ensure liabilities are protected. Understand and maintain programs such as ISN, confined space, PIT programs and training, FA/CPR training, etc. Build and maintain relationships with client safety, including understanding and communicating client safety requirements, participating in client reviews, and communicating regularly with client safety. Lead the corporate initiative to update and deploy a corporate EHS Management system Select, deploy and manage corporate EHS web-based systems. Coordinate with Communications on a program to share EHS information and updates to employees and stakeholders, fostering open communication and engagement Monitor and identify weaknesses in the Safety Program to implement changes and update, as necessary. Evaluate analytical data to identify trends in injury types throughout the platform. Initiate corrective actions through the Safety Team as needed to ensure team member safety. Develop strategic improvements to influence and change Safety Culture to lower OSHA Recordable Rate (ORR). Direct corporate EHS compliance strategy for all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT) Direct overall EHS data analysis to identify trends, measure performance, and track progress toward targets Work with corporate HR on developing EHS training Develop program to map out EHS training matrix for all divisions Develop a plan to improve employee engagement. Experience leading HOP and Learning Teams programs Recommend and develop safety initiatives partnering with clients, vendors, manufacturers to improve team member safety. Evaluate all training, policies, procedures, and delivery platforms to find the best way to effectively communicate to an evolving workforce. Other duties as assigned.

YOUR MUST HAVES

Must be 18 years of age or older Active Drivers License Degree in Safety or Extensive background in safety compliance field 15 or more years in Safety related position Five or more years of people management within compliance/audit teams Demonstrated experience creating sustainable processes Knowledge of government regulations (EPA, USDA, OSHA) Ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture Self-motivated with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting Must be willing to project goals for company growth. Be adaptable to various assignments and non-routine tasks.

WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE

CSP, CIT, CHMM, MS in environmental science, occupational health, safety management, or a related field

OUR ENVIRONMENT

This position is hybrid based and will require travel to plant locations and could require the use of PPE including safety glasses, hardhat, ear protection and/or other protective equipment/clothing. Walking, standing, sitting, and computer work are all required in this environment. Sitting for extended periods of time when travelling (mostly driving) is also required.
