This position oversees all aspects of facility management, janitorial and maintenance operations, inventory, school nutrition, and school safety and security, including carpool coordination and transportation logistics for school-sponsored trips. The role ensures that the campus remains safe, clean, well-maintained, and operationally sound to support student learning and staff needs. Key Responsibilities Management and Leadership Supervise and coach the school’s Facilities and Safety team, including custodial staff, school nutrition, inventory, and others, ensuring a high standard of performance and professionalism. Oversee or coordinate contracted personnel (e.g., nutrition vendor, transportation providers, technology support) to maintain quality service and timely issue resolution. Ensures smooth day-to-day school operations of facilities and school safety, and seamless support for instructional programs, extracurricular activities, and school events. Collaborate closely with the Principal, Business and Finance Manager, and school leadership to align facilities and school safety functions with the school’s mission and goals. Facilities Management & Maintenance Oversee all aspects of facilities maintenance, including cleanliness, repairs, and improvements. Ensure that school buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and visually appealing. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and accessibility standards, managing security systems and liaising with emergency services as needed. Plan and manage the facilities budget, coordinating with external contractors for building enhancements and major repairs. Supervise janitorial staff or service providers to uphold cleanliness standards in classrooms, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. Establish cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules. Monitor supply levels and ensure timely procurement of cleaning and maintenance materials. School Safety & Security Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of school-wide safety procedures and emergency preparedness plans. Conduct regular campus safety inspections, risk assessments, and compliance audits. Coordinate and supervise safety drills (fire, severe weather, intruder, etc.) in accordance with state requirements. Oversee the installation and functionality of safety and security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarms, and visitor protocols. Serve as the school’s point of contact with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies. Maintain records of safety training, incidents, and drills; ensure required reports are submitted accurately and on time. Information Technology (IT) Coordinate with internal and external IT support staff to ensure all technology systems—including devices, software, and network infrastructure—function optimally. Oversee troubleshooting and timely resolution of technical issues affecting instruction or operations. Maintain inventory of devices and plan for technology upgrades or replacements. Inventory & Supplies Management Develop and maintain systems for tracking school inventory, including office supplies, educational materials, and technology. Ensure efficient distribution of supplies and timely replenishment. Coordinate safe storage and disposal of surplus or outdated items School Nutrition Oversight Serve as the primary point of contact for the school nutrition vendor. Oversee meal service operations to ensure timely delivery and compliance with USDA and state nutrition standards. Oversee the meal application process, including Direct Certification Look-up and verification, and compliance reporting. Carpool & Trip-Based Transportation Design, implement, and manage daily carpool procedures for student arrival and dismissal, ensuring safety and efficiency. Communicate carpool expectations to families and staff; adjust logistics as needed based on feedback and volume. Coordinate with external vendors for transportation services related to school-sponsored field trips and off-campus events. Ensure all transportation activities meet safety guidelines and contractual standards. Family and Community Engagement Model a culture of exceptional customer service to all families and community members. Assist in planning and execution of school-wide events (e.g., LN Y Celebrations, Children’s Day) to ensure a positive experience for students, families, and staff
Education and Experience:
Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Education Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities and/or operations management, including supervisory responsibilities, preferably in a school setting. Demonstrated expertise in facilities management, school nutrition programs, or school safety.
