The Opportunity:

The Consumer Segment Health & Safety Lead will direct strategic initiatives to cultivate a robust safety culture and ensure regulatorypliance across the consumer segment. This role is pivotal in driving health and safety improvements, reducing risk, and fostering a safe and healthy work environment throughout the enterprise.
The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background in safety management, a strategic mindset, and exceptional interpersonal skills to influence leadership and teams at allanizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Coach and influence leadership and team members to embed health and safety (H&S) practices into everyday operations.
Develop and implement a sustainable H&S management system to drive engagement, identify and mitigate risks, and support a safe workplace.
Champion corporate-level initiatives aimed at achieving continuous H&S improvements.
Assist operations teams in implementing the Safety Excellence System (SES), developing injury prevention programs, and ensuringpliance withpany policies, standards, and regulations.
Design and execute enterprise-wide strategic plans for H&S performance improvements and set measurable goals.
Provide coaching to leaders on risk analysis, accident investigation, root cause identification, and corrective countermeasures.
Collaborate with Corporate H&S to cascademunications and processes to local leadership.
Develop regulatory strategies and oversee the implementation of programs that ensurepliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
Establish industry-standard metrics to monitor and report H&S performance, including incident rates, severity rates, and proactive metrics, with regular updates to senior management.
Partner with Risk Management to optimize workers’pensation strategies and facilitate return-to-work protocols at all sites.
Develop and oversee the global business strategy for uniform implementation of Safety and Health policies across the consumer segment.
Conduct facility visits to assesspliance, provide coaching, and ensure adnce to safety policies.
Support merger and acquisition activities, including integration of H&S protocols.
Lead large-scale capital safety reviews for new product development, facility modifications, and equipment installations.
Respond to third-party inquiries regarding H&S practices and performance.

Qualifications:
Preferred:

Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field.
Minimum 10 years of experience leading H&S initiatives.
Demonstrated expertise in implementing or transforming best practices in H&S.
Proven experience in developing and executing H&S management systems.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to advocate for safety culture and influence teams.
High proficiency in data and statistical analysis.
Exceptional verbal and writtenmunication skills across allanizational levels.
In-depth knowledge of safety management fundamentals, risk reduction techniques, and regulatorypliance, including OSHA standards and state-specific regulations.
Robust negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
Technical expertise in manufacturing facilities and mills.
Superior diplomacy andmunication skills to guide and influence leadership.
