Key Responsibilities:
Supervise firewatch personnel and assign them to appropriate locations based on ongoing hot work activities. Ensure all firewatch staff are trained and certified in fire safety and hot work monitoring procedures. Monitor work areas for fire risks during and after hot work operations. Conduct pre-job hazard assessments and ensure that proper permits are in place. Ensure all safety equipment (fire extinguishers, PPE, alarms) is available, functional, and used correctly. Enforce company and OSHA fire safety protocols and respond to any safety violations. Coordinate with welders, cutters, and supervisors to plan safe hot work operations. Maintain firewatch logs and incident reports as required by policy or regulations. Conduct regular safety briefings and toolbox talks for firewatch staff. Participate in safety audits and inspections.
