Job Description
Global HSE Lead Jenike and Johanson Inc 400 Business Park Drive, Tyngsboro, MA 01879 We are seeking a Global HSE Lead in our Tyngsboro, MA office. In this role, you will champion a strong culture of safety, support our safety-first mindset, and lead our HSE programs across our global operations, including sites in the US, Australia, Canada, Chile, and Brazil.
Responsibilities:
Partner with senior leadership to develop HSE initiatives that support our company’s vision and core values including ensuring safe and compliant operations globally Collaborate closely with laboratory supervisors and technicians to perform or review risk assessments on materials to be tested to identify the hazards and select appropriate controls to minimize risk to our employees Review, maintain, update, or create and implement written HSE programs Perform periodic inspections of safety-related equipment and audits of HSE programs Lead regular safety committee meetings Deliver educational safety information across the company in the form of formal trainings, micro-learnings, or written communications Create an environment of continuous improvement by identifying unique controls for hazards, finding practical solutions to addressing unsafe acts or conditions and providing detailed root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations for close calls, incidents and accidents Act as the subject-matter expert for HSE-related regulatory requirements Coordinate facilities maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects to ensure a safe, compliant and operationally efficient work environment,
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with implementing and sustaining HSE initiatives BS or higher in Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety, or related fields CIH, CSP, or other safety-related professional certification preferred Experience performing risk assessments of laboratory-scale work involving hazardous chemicals Familiarity with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals, including interpreting hazard classifications and selecting label elements Experience managing a respiratory protection program a plus Experience performing personal and area monitoring for airborne contaminates a plus Familiarity with and the ability to aid employee’s compliance with most general industry safety programs, such as work at heights, the control of hazardous energies, confined space entry, machine guarding, etc., typically by providing awareness-level training Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability and willingness apply our company’s core values of excellence, passion, integrity, collaboration, ownership and innovation to our HSE programs Occasional domestic and international travel will be required as needed.
