program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.” The Role The Sr Data Science Manager – AV Safety will lead a talented team of data scientists who will drive design, development, and deployment of autonomous vehicle (AV) performance KPIs ranging from straightforward to advanced machine learning outputs. This position is part of the Safety Assurance for Effective Autonomous Driving Software (SAFE-ADS) department in the Global Product Safety, System, and Certification (GPSSC) organization. The

department serves as the central body for automated driving system (ADS) safety. GM’s vision is zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion – AV safety is at the heart of driving forward this vision. The ideal candidate will be an expert in data science, statistical modeling, and data development across the entire data maturity curve. They will have experience in automative, safety, and/or robotic industries. They will also bring in proven leadership skills to inspire innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and excellence across the team. In addition to being able to coach and mentor the team, this role also requires the candidate to have good business acumen, business consulting skills, strategic thinking, and planning skills. As a leader with a strong technical background, you will lead a team of hands-on data science practitioners who are focused on scaling data science work and accelerating time-to-delivery in insights related to autonomous vehicle performance and safety measurement.
