Overview Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization’s environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations | Responsibilities are within the Environmental Health and Safety Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines Major Position Responsibilities Outlines and implements policies or programs to educate and promote employee health and safety or environmental compliance.
Delivers training programs educating staff on environmental concerns or health and safety risks found in the organization.
Communicates regularly with management and administration regarding the status of environmental initiatives.
Ensures that training records, health/safety manuals or handbooks, incident/accident reports, or other documentation are appropriately maintained.
Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.
Monitors known health, safety, or environmental hazards, such as noise, air, or wastewater pollution levels.
Coordinates inspection of facilities, vehicles, or equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations.
Communicates facility-specific emergency response or evacuation plans.
Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations.
