This roleis a part of the senior team at the plant and is accountable forleading a comprehensive safety and wellness process using aproactive approach. Creating a safety culture, where ourassociates’ safety and well-being is always the #1 priority. Thishighly energized, on-the-floor leader will engage with associatesdaily, help lead safety messaging and stretching exercises duringshift meetings and work cross-functionally to ensure safetytraining and compliance is very effective. Creation andimplementation of a safety strategy for the plant will be required.

Sharing key learnings, issues, opportunities, and best practices asan active contributor to the Safety Community across the plantnetwork and building relationships with peers and cross-functionalpartners will be critical to success.

Reporting Structure:

This rolereports to the Plant Site Director and the Director of Safety.

CoreResponsibilities:

Lead a caring safety culture that is focused on people Lead processes necessary to ensure a safe working environment

  • every shift, every day Lead the facility to meet or exceed established corporatesafety goals aligned with business needs Lead processes necessary to be compliant with applicablefederal, state and local safety requirements and remain current onchanging requirements; handle any applicable audits or OSHAvisits.

Lead programs, training, and messaging to recognize, reward andpromote safe behaviors throughout the facility

Drive strong accountability with leaders to be role models ofsafe behaviors. Lead programs to correct unsafe acts and unsafe conditions withthe workplace Work collaboratively with the Site Director, HR and Worker’sCompensation/Leave Experts (both in the plant and at the supportcenter) on all decisions related to injuries, leaves, reasonableaccommodations/return to work, discipline and leave casemanagement. Strong sense of urgency around communication and proactiveapproach to issues and concerns. Stay apprised on trends and best practices

  • both across thenetwork and within the marketplace and the Safety Community Ensure relevant data, compliance records & training, postings,procedures, and reporting is complete, accurate and in compliance.

Extract insights from our data to identifytrends/issues/opportunities and create a plan to address thoseinsights (may be ergonomic, PM issues, training gaps, etc.) Build high performing teams, develop and retain toptalent.

Financial Controls and Budgeting:

Responsible for providingleadership and guidance to maintain a safety budget with anemphasis on practical business and financial responsibility Coaching and Leading others Caring positive approach, influencing, and motivatingothers Whole systems thinking Managing projects and processesWhat you bring to the table Bachelor’s degree in safety, Operations, Engineering, Businessor related field is preferred. 3+ years of experience in EHS is required. Experience influencing and training large manufacturing teamsand management to promote and lead by example a safe workenvironment and to always remain in compliance with all legal andcompany safety regulations. Minimum three years related experience or equivalentcombination of education and experience Ability to lead others
