Responsibilities Develop and implement transportation safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of transportation operations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance audits. Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices, emergency response, first aid, and occupational health. Collaborate with management to investigate accidents or incidents, conducting root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and ensure proper reporting procedures are followed. Liaise with regulatory agencies such as OSHA and EPA to ensure adherence to safety standards. Fabricate safety equipment or tools as necessary to enhance operational safety measures. Skills Proficient in report writing with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Strong knowledge of EPA regulations and OSHA standards related to transportation safety.
