Safety & Security Director Position Available In Hinds, Mississippi

We have an immediate opening for a full time Safety & Security Director to serve our Security Department.

SHIFT:

Monday – Friday
7:00am – 4:00pm

BASIC FUNCTION

Responsible for preparation of the departmental budget
Develops policies and procedures, risk assessments for each of the facilities
Develops long and short range plans and establishes goals and objectives to accomplish those plans
Selects, trains and evaluates all Security Department personnel including counseling and disciplinary actions as required
Prepares work schedules and special assignments
Maintains a visible presence throughout the facility communicating with patients and staff to enhance the safe and secure environment
Ensures that patients are transported to outside facilities as required
Assists Safety Officer in correcting or reporting safety discrepancies discovered during security rounds
Keeps record of any and all incidents pertaining to safety and security involving physical or weather conditions, patients, visitors and staff at MRC
Coordinates with UMC campus police, Jackson PD, Flowood PD, or other law enforcement agencies having jurisdiction on matters pertaining to crime scene investigations, security assistance, parking violations or other matters requiring police assistance

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of state and federal laws as they pertain to power of arrest and search and seizure
Prefer bachelor’s degree, certifications from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety, and prior supervisory experience
Minimum of 10 years experience in law enforcement or healthcare security management
