Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking a qualified Safety Manager to assist the Regional Safety Manager with implementing and ensuring the Safety Program, Site Safety Plans, and Sub-contracts are enforced. You will ensure that our company and all subcontractors are complying and adhering to OSHA guidelines to reduce work-related injuries. The Safety Manager will motivate, educate, and coach all employees and all contractors, onsite to adhere to all safety policies and regulations. The Safety Manager will manage Safety Coordinators in all aspects of their job scope. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.

What You’ll Do:

Monitors and evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with all OSHA, company policies, and all other agencies. Support the Regional Safety Manager with incident investigations and root cause analysis. Conduct safety meetings such as Toolbox Talks, Committee Meetings, etc. Review and update safety material and best practices. Inspect Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to Arc Flash protective gear, Safety glasses/goggles, gloves, etc. Provide and conduct safety audits, PROCORE observations, and safety supply orders for management as requested. Stay current and up to date with OSHA and other regulatory safety guidelines. Travel to various sites ensuring safety regulations and guidelines is met. Provide coaching and mentoring for all employees exhibiting unsafe and safe behaviors. Help the Regional Safety Manager manage and handle incident claims and maintain OSHA logs. Perform and assist with risk, hazard, and safety assessments. Perform First Responder duties as needed. Manage LOTO programs/Commissioning duties to ensure compliance. Manage, coach, and mentor Safety Coordinators in all aspects of their job scope. Ensure all Safety supplies are adequate, and order as needed. Support Site Management in ensuring site compliance with all agencies during construction. Train employees as needed to support the necessary safety training needed.

Must-Haves:

2+ years’ experience managing safety efforts on large scale projects. Demonstrated ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to interact all levels at the organization. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to manage employees. Ability to affectively train employees. Experience using MS office, Smartsheets, PROCORE and other databases. Experience in the solar industry.

Education and Certifications:

Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position required. Must possess and maintain a current valid driver’s license required. CPR/First Aid/AED Certified required. OSHA 30 Certification required.
