Job Summary:

We are urgently seeking a reliable Firewatch to start immediately on a job site in Chapel Hill, NC . The Firewatch is responsible for ensuring safety during and after hot work activities such as welding or cutting. This role plays a vital part in fire prevention and requires a strong sense of alertness and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Actively monitor the work area during hot work for fire hazards or unsafe conditions Ensure fire extinguishing equipment is present, accessible, and functional Remain in position during and after hot work until the area is deemed safe Follow all safety protocols and site-specific procedures Complete daily logs and communicate clearly with supervisors and crews Report any incidents or hazards immediately

Requirements:

Prior Firewatch or job site safety experience is preferred Ability to stand for long periods and work in construction or industrial environments Dependable transportation to and from the Chapel Hill job site Strong communication and awareness skills OSHA 10/30 or Firewatch certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain quickly) At Delectus, we pursue excellence in all we do.
