INTER-OP
is seeking a Safety manager to coordinate and manage the company’s safety program for aviation maintenance. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, investigating incidents, and maintaining safety policies and procedures. This position will be in support of an aviation maintenance contract for the United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC). The Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center provides centralized logistics support for all Coast Guard aviation missions. Responsibilities Review and interpret aviation safety regulations, policies, and directives applicable to contract support work at ALC. Develop and maintain an OSHA compliant Safety training program for Aviation Maintenance operations. Develop a schedule and conduct routine workplace inspections, compliance audits and ad-hoc inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. Conduct all mishap investigations into incidents related to Aviation Maintenance operations and prepare reports on findings. Maintain injury/illness mishap data, analyzes reports, and initiate action to improve safety program. Ensure that quarterly assessment/monitoring level or medical surveillance and monitoring exposure levels will be conducted in areas where there may be exposure to hazardous dust and metal shavings. Serve as the point of contact for company safety matters including: Aviation Maintenance Safety program, Operational Risk Management and Environmental Compliance program.
Qualifications / Experience
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of (8) years of experience in the field of aviation maintenance (preferably with rotary wing aircraft). Experience working as an Aviation Maintenance Safety Officer. Familiarity with aviation safety regulations, risk management principles, and accident investigation procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. About
