Job DescriptionOverview:
Implement food safety and quality system processes for the WPL facility. Conduct audits of production facility to ensure company, federal, state and local food safety standards are maintained. Consult with Quality Control Director to implement and monitor quality systems to ensure accurate and consistent quality attribute monitoring and reporting. Function as an information source to pack house leadership team, sales, and company support departments to provide quality and food safety data.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Execute food safety audits to ensure compliance with directives from third party audit bodies, local, state and federal agenciesConduct Wonderful Citrus audit procedures and ensure facility documents are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintainedEvaluate overall product quality by monitoring product lines via testing and visual inspectionEducate and instruct plant personnel in QC testing, equipment and general sanitation, food safety and GMP practices. Ensure these procedures are continuously maintainedConsult with plant supervisors and leads on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yieldsMonitoring and correct (if necessary) inspection activities for product throughout production cycleImplement inspection criteria and proceduresProvide direction and support in the completion of food safety corrective actions in the packinghouseMonitoring, develop, and execute food safety and quality monitoring audits in the packinghouseMaintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teamsEnsure safety of all associates and encourage participation in WOW initiativesMonitoring and management (as needed) quality system in Oracle and mobile solutionPerforms supervisory activities for direct reports, including but not limited to administering wage information and allocations, developing and coaching staff as necessary, making staffing decisions, and representing staff interests to department managementOther duties as assignedQualificationsHere’s what you’ll bring to the table:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food processing environment and/or combination equivalent education and experienceStrong analytical skillsComputer literate. Experience with Oracle or other SAP program desiredAdvance knowledge of food safety practices and GMPs requiredMust be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this positionBilingual, English and Spanish a plus, but not requiredHACCP, PCQI, SQF and/or BRC preferred
