Job Description

Environmental Health & Safety Associate Manager Cosmax USA 300 Milik Street, Carteret, NJ 07008 We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Associate Manager to lead and support our safety and compliance initiatives. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety programs that protect employees and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DEC, and FDA regulations. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with HR, Maintenance, and site leadership to foster a strong safety culture, conduct audits, manage training programs, and oversee risk assessments, emergency response, and hazardous materials handling. This position can be structured as full-time or part-time , offering flexibility for the right candidate.

Duties:
  • Create, implement, and continually improve safety policies and practices to protect workers and uphold compliance with applicable laws.
  • Support audits by Use FDA and OSHA .
  • Work together with leaders to establish and implement a highly efficient safety culture.
  • Organize activities with pertinent partners, such as Human Resources, internal operators, and Maintenance, to match EHS work with departmental goals.
  • Develop and oversee efforts for improving worker awareness and comprehension of safety procedures.
  • Ensure that all applicable federal, state, and local environmental health and safety rules and regulations, including OSHA, DEC, and EPA standards, are strictly followed.
  • Conduct EHS audits to assess the effectiveness of safety measures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that hazardous waste materials are handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations by providing expert advice.
  • Evaluate operational processes for potential hazards, assess 1isks and recommend corrective actions to enhance safety.
  • Oversee the invento1y, certification, and inspection of first aid centers to guarantee their readiness for emergencies.
  • Create, manage, and in1plement comprehensive environmental health and safety training programs for employees.
  • Manage workplace air quality programs, ensuring optimal indoor air quality for employee well-being.
  • Conduct risk assessments, review equipment applications, remodeling projects, and facility designs to verify compliance with safely requirements.
  • Recommend using personal protective equipment as needed.
  • Take a lead role in responding to and investigating workplace incidents, offering technical guidance, and coordinating appropriate measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in responding to emergencies involving hazardous materials and participate in mitigation efforts.
  • Assist in the creation and submission of yearly El-I&S government reports to ensure compliance
  • Supervise the monitoring of hazards such as toxic atmospheres, chemicals, flammable liquids, and combustible materials; ensure proper functioning of life safety devices including fume hoods, fire extinguishers, and detectors.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership by identifying and addressing emerging EHS trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into all aspects of business operations.
  • Must have good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP), applying these standards in daily operations to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the team receives necessary training to perform their duties, follow internal procedures, and comply with GMP and GDP.

Must coordinate, supervise, and/or provide training to ensure that personnel are qualified and meet quality standards and applicable regulations. Perform any additional duties as assigned

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:

$80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
