Position Description:

A sanitation supervisor ensures a clean and safe environment in a facility, by overseeing sanitation operations, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will be able to develop, implement, and oversee sanitation procedures that maintain facility cleanliness and prevent contamination or intentional adulteration of dietary supplements. Key Responsibilities Ensure the sanitation department remains in compliance with dietary supplement regulations and verification records. Inspecting the manufacturing process to determine sanitation protocols. Own facility sanitation program. Ensure overall success of sanitation program to meet food safety and quality requirements. Provide guidance on sanitary design of equipment and facilities. Work closely with other departments to improve sanitation performance indicators (start-ups, microbial monitoring etc.) Provide support during facility audits. Implement master sanitation schedule. Schedule deep cleans as needed. Develop a working relationship with chemical suppliers to improve sanitation performance indicators and manage costs. Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals and operating cleaning equipment. General facility maintenance, including but not limited to: inspecting parking lot and plant perimeter for trash and debris Inspecting building for damage which may cause hazard i.e. broken lighting, electrical, cracks and/or gaps on the ground. Investigating signs of rodents and insects. Collaborate with other members of the facilities team to support overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. Show a desire and willingness to learn and succeed. Complete all required training activities. Demonstrates commitment to the organization by maintaining regular, on-site attendance, is reliable and follows through on responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, procedures, and equipment. Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred.
Technical/Functional:
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, procedures, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Safety Awareness:
Follow OSHA Manufacturing Safety Awareness and precautions. Comprehends and adheres to all pertinent Health and Safety Regulations, Policies and Procedures. Required to use all approved and issued Personal Protective Equipment as directed by policy and procedure. Report any safety issue (ie. injury, near miss, or hazards) or workplace accident to supervisor immediately. Ensure all GMP guidelines are adhered to, wear PPE, follow biohazard safety standards.
Additional Information:
Lifting, pushing, and pulling products. Ability to handle 20-25 lbs. on a frequent basis from floor to chest high. Standing for extended periods of time. Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish and shellfish.)
