Compensation Range:
$63,815.00 – $95,723.00 The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general guidance of and reports directly to Manager of Quality and Safety in Psychiatry, using general policy guidelines and approved protocols. Position requires collaboration with Psychiatry leadership team, division leads, administrative/clerical staff, Psychiatry clinical risk management and quality improvement team (CRMQIT), and main hospital Quality Office staff. Functions as data manager for risk events and complaints. Helps coordinate process for reviewing incidents, assigning investigations, and tracking corrective action items. Collaborates with Manager of Quality and Safety on reporting in Justice Center and NIMRS systems. Schedule M-F 8:30am-5pm
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes event reviews and OMH investigations, including Web Submission of Investigation Reports (WSIR) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as needed. Completes Special Investigations as trained and authorized by the Office of Mental Health. Develops and delivers training programs to enhance employee awareness and adherence to safety and quality standards Reviews electronically reported events daily; assists in investigating events that led to real or potential patient harm Coordinates adverse event review documentation for the Incident Review Committee. Manages process for patient complaints both internally as well as complaints from regulatory external bodies. Coordinates follow up with Patient Relations with the resolution of complaints when warranted Manages event data for the department to support tracking and reviewing of reportable events. Develops and drafts departmental policies, ensuring they progress through the review and approval process. Participates in Joint Commission, OMH, OASAS surveys to ensure that all clinical areas are in compliance with organizational and governmental standards and makes recommendations for updates. In partnership with clinical areas and quality leadership, develops and tracks corrective action plans for regulatory survey activity. Maintains compliance with all country and state-mandated regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in an appropriate health, social or technical field
REQUIRED 3-5
years of related experience
REQUIRED
Master’s degree in nursing or behavioral health field PREFERRED.. Previous experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and/or quality improvement
PREFERRED.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
REQUIRED. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
REQUIRED.
Highly organized and efficient
