JOB SUMMARY
Accountable for maintaining a healthy,safe, and productive workplace through the education and trainingof employees in safe work practices, knowledge of emergencyprocedures, administration of company safety policies forcompliance with health, safety and environmental state and federalregulations. The EHS Manager supports operations in theimplementation and promotion of proactive safety initiatives withthe goals of attaining a zero-injury workplace and supportingregulatory compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible formanagement and completion of action items on the annual compliancecalendar. Create safety awareness with all employees by leading thesafety committee, oversight of safety submittals and implementingsafety initiatives. Implement and manage Environmental Health &Safety Inspection Program including eyewash stations, ladders,hoists, waste accumulation, chemical storage, storm water,Emergency preparation, Contractor Safety Programs, Lock Out/Tag OutProgram, and general hazard recognition. Develop, maintain, andmodify site specific Health Programs such as RespiratoryProtection, Hearing Conservation, Hazardous Waste, Ergonomics, etc.
Responsible for ensuring completion of new hire and annual safetytraining requirements. Integrating continuous improvements insafety systems by driving employee engagement to achieve desiredresults utilizing the safety committee. Maintain and applyknowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrialprocesses. Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupationaldiseases to determine their cause and recommend countermeasures toprevent future incident. Planning and implementing safety policiesand procedures in compliance with local, state, and federalOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules andregulations. Review plans and specifications for new machinery andequipment to make sure they meet safety requirements. Identify andcorrect potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, andsafety equipment. Overseeing and coordinating ergonomics programand efforts to reduce all forms of muscular-skeletal illnesses.
Responsible for all
OSHA/ODH/EPA
reporting for the facility. Ensurepersonal protective equipment assessments and complete purchases.
Responsible for knowledge and understanding of EHSregulations/requirements and developing/implementing programs tomeet those requirements. Prepare and submit company EHS metrics.
Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned byManagement or corporate
EHS. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree inrelated field of study is preferred. Minimum of 5 years ofEnvironmental, Health & Safety experience. Prior EHS experience ina Manufacturing environment is required. Must possess excellentoral and written communication skills. Excellent time managementskills with the proven ability to balance priorities and meetdeadlines. Strong organizational skills are essential. Excellentcomputer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Willingness to work flexible and extended hours, including offshift and weekends on an as needed basis. Able to workindependently and in a team environment. Background in incidentinvestigations, such as 5-Why, What-If Analysis, 6-sigma, etc.
Experience working with Safety Programs such as Lockout-Tagout,Industrial Vehicles, Hoisting Equipment, Electrical Safety, FallProtection, Confined Space, Ergonomics, and Industrial HygienePrograms. Experience with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans(SWPPP).
Certifications/Licenses:
OSHA 30-hour certification andHazwhoper certification preferred.

COMPENSATION
The basesalary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 annually. Thisrange may be subject to variation based on several factorsincluding but not limited to a candidate’s skills, training,education, level of experience, certifications, etc. This is anon-management position This is a full time position
