    Safety Manager

  • Transportation is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective and innovative safety program, with the objective of securing safety, minimizing risk, and protecting the assets of the corporation. The Safety Manager
  • Transportation will ensure compliance with all DOT requirements, including creating and implementing safety programs, training, program compliance and oversight. Safety Manager
  • Transportation will provide safety leadership to management, supervise adherence to the corporate safety programs, and ensure compliance with the company safety philosophy and industry best practices.

Director of Safety/ Compliance & Recruiting will ensure that the organization meets its obligations to prevent, reduce and mitigate risk exposures and losses to protect the insurability of the organization.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to: driver hiring, terminations, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, performance management and driver productivity. Develops and implements policies and programs as necessary to ensure safe driving Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards Increase driver safety awareness by providing comprehensive and consistent training (both regulatory and company mandated) Complete driver on-boarding Conduct driver orientation Coordinate safety activities and training to ensure implementation of safety awareness programs Facilitate communication and cooperation between drivers and employees Provide direction on safety programs and procedures based on organizational goals and policies Generate reports for management review, identifying issues and reporting results Create, monitor, and implement safety policies and procedures Conduct accident Investigations and ELD log auditing Attend Safety seminars to stay current with FMCSA Rules and Regulations Qualifications and Skills CDL-A (Preferred not required) 5 years’ experience in compliance, safety & DOT required Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Drug & Alcohol Regulations (including Parts 40, 199, & 382), and other Regulatory Guidance Knowledge and understanding of the Hours of Service rules and regulations Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently while supporting an overall team mentality Thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities Read, write, and speak English fluently. Positive and enthusiastic attitude
