Summary

MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country. We are looking for a Safety Glass and Glazing Technical Services Sr. Manager. In this role you will provide enterprise-wide expertise and support to our internal glass tempering, laminating, and IGU processes and manufacturing facilities. This position will develop, implement, and oversee audits to assure compliance to all regulatory, statutory, and industry requirements. This role will also develop, implement, and assure effectiveness of manufacturing conformity programs to minimize risk to the business and assure best process control and improvement practices are being maintained across all glass fabrication facilities. This role will provide direct assistance to manufacturing teams to assure all external third-party certification submissions meet their intended performance requirements.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement operator training programs
Develop and manage formal Conformity of Manufacturing
Oversee all sample submissions for third-party certification testing
Support MITER Brands manufacturing operations with on-site visits as needed
Share best practices across glass fabrication operations
Represent MITER Brands at appropriate associations (FGIA, ASTM, SGCC, etc.) as needed
Coordinate and participate in internal assessment activities
Develop in-process testing and reaction procedures to support best manufacturing processes
Collaborate with local and regional Quality teams to address fabricated glass quality issues
Participate in Root Cause(s) Analyses and Corrective/Preventative actions as needed
Participate in enterprise-wide Continuous Improvement activities a needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related field with 4-6 years’ experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; or a successful combination of education and experience to perform the essential functions of the job
Strong presentation and analytical skills
Demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
Ability to work flexible hours depending upon the needs of the business
Ability to travel as needed – 50% – 75% travel expectation
Significant experience in safety glass quality and fabrication operations (tempering, laminating, IG)
Demonstrated knowledge of formal Root Cause Analyses
Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement tools: Lean, 6-Sigma, 5S
Ability to analyze data for problem solving
High level of customer focus both internally and external customer relations experience
