Loss Prevention Reports to: Vice President of Risk and Safety The Director of Public Safety is responsible for overseeing all safety, security, and emergency preparedness operations at the resort. This leadership role ensures the protection of guests, employees, and property while maintaining a welcoming and guest-oriented environment. The Director develops and implements strategic safety policies, manages a trained team of security professionals, and ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Life:

Demonstrate leadership by modeling a friendly, service-oriented approach in all interactions with guests and staff, setting the tone for the department. Uphold and enforce high standards of professional appearance and grooming across the Public Safety team, including adherence to uniform and identification requirements. Ensure departmental coverage aligns with resort needs by overseeing and approving scheduling in compliance with attendance and operational standards. Champion a culture of safety and efficiency by enforcing resort-wide compliance with safety regulations, policies, and operational procedures. Direct the recruitment, hiring, performance management, and professional development of all Public Safety personnel to maintain a highly skilled and reliable team. Oversee surveillance operations and direct appropriate responses to suspicious or unusual activity on resort premises. Supervise and authorize investigations into internal incidents, losses, or breaches of resort policy, ensuring timely documentation and resolution. Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive safety and security training programs for Public Safety personnel and relevant resort departments. Lead the development and continuous improvement of the resort’s emergency preparedness and contingency planning strategies. Promote and ensure a culture of safe work practices across all departments, working in close collaboration with department heads. Is this the job for me: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combinations of education and work experience Minimum of 5+ years in a senior security or safety leadership role, preferably in a hospitality or resort environment. Strong knowledge of security operations, emergency response, and safety regulations. Proven ability to lead a team in a high-visibility, guest-facing environment. Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, or

FEMA ICS

training preferred. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills Ability to direct collaborative efforts of direct reports and other resources that the organization, including internal and external resources and other constituent groups as appropriate Ability to manage change, resolve conflict and ensure collaboration with teams; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity Strong organizational skills, the ability to work on multiple tasks in a timely and professional matter Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issues in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.
