Job Description
Under general supervision, the Quality and Safety Program Coordinator provides comprehensive support to the Heart and Vascular Quality and Safety Program within the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program for the Heart and Vascular Integrated Clinical Care Environment (ICCE). The coordinator will report to the Quality and Safety Director for the Heart and Vascular ICCE, supporting MUSC’s academic, research, and healthcare missions. This role involves collecting relevant quality data, analyzing and assessing that data, collaborating with stakeholders to disseminate information, benchmarking performance, and leading multidisciplinary teams to enhance performance based on established goals. Additionally, the coordinator will present performance results to relevant oversight and governance groups, as well as lead and oversee QAPI efforts, regulatory and accreditation activities, and program standards
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience with strong knowledge in quality and performance improvement or a master’s degree in a health-related field and three (3) years of healthcare experience with strong knowledge in quality and performance improvement.
Candidates should have experience in performance improvement (PI) programs and processes and the ability to utilize data for program analysis. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are necessary, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with all disciplines. Clinical experience in patient care, as well as experience in clinical chart review and abstraction, is preferred.
