Food Safety & Quality Supervisor Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety & Quality Supervisor to support and lead our team in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food safety protocols, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Support the FSQ Manager in building a collaborative team environment, fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, continuous improvement, customer focus, and teamwork. Supervise, develop, plan, and continuously evaluate the performance of FSQ Technicians. Schedule and supervise the work and training of FSQ Technicians. Provide on-the-job training to FSQ Technicians as needed. Provide technical support and play a key leadership role across HACCP, GMP, and Internal Audit teams. Supervise CCP monitoring activities and review respective records for completeness and accuracy. Oversee the calibration of instruments associated with CCPs. Drive compliance with GMP procedures and routines in plant operations. Provide technical support and leadership in the resolution of CAPA reports associated with major process deviations, hold events of finished products, and customer complaints within the Food Safety categories. Coordinate monitoring, verification, and validation activities within the HACCP Plans and Pre-Requisite Programs. Contribute to the development of training resources and delivery of the Food Safety training program. Support Change Control activities impacting food safety. Provide technical support and leadership in the coordination of monitoring, verification, validation, effectiveness, and efficiency of Sanitation Controls and Allergen Controls practices. Execute and coordinate pre-operation inspections of manufacturing equipment by FSQ Technicians. Track, report, and communicate the performance of Food Safety KPIs. Provide technical support during 3rd party Food Safety and Regulatory audits and inspections. Contribute to CAPA reports associated with 3rd party Food Safety and Regulatory audits and inspections. Execute and supervise routines associated with the Quality Monitoring Plans across manufacturing lines and Business Units. Supervise activities related to the evaluation, standardization, and approval of product batches. Provide technical leadership during 3rd party Quality audits. Support the FSQ Manager in determining the disposition of hold events for finished products. Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills High School diploma 3 years of leadership and people supervision in food or beverage manufacturing 5 years of work experience in food or beverage manufacturing, preferably in Quality, Food Safety, and Production roles Knowledge and experience in food or beverage testing and laboratory operations Experience in developing and implementing Quality, Food Safety, and GMP programs and systems Training in HACCP Ability to enforce Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and team-building experience Ability to adapt to changing operational and organizational needs Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in an inclusive work environment Valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Engineering, or Chemistry Experience with aseptic processing and packaging of food or beverage products Completion of ‘Better Process Control School – Aseptic Packaging’ Six Sigma Certification Work Environment The work environment includes exposure to wet and varying temperature conditions between 60-100 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, moving machinery parts, airborne particles, allergens including but not limited to soy, tree nuts, milk and milk by-products, and fumes from food processing.
