Quality Manager Job Description As a Quality Manager, you will build and lead a collaborative team dedicated to fostering a culture of accountability, empowerment, continuous improvement, customer focus, and teamwork. You will manage, develop, and evaluate the performance of FSQ Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians, scheduling and overseeing their work and training. You will support the VP of Food Safety & Quality in developing and executing FSQ strategies, providing regulatory support, and managing KPIs. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, manage positive release processes for ingredients and finished products, and provide technical leadership and guidance across various quality assurance and food safety initiatives. Responsibilities Build and lead a collaborative team focused on accountability, empowerment, continuous improvement, customer focus, and teamwork. Manage, develop, plan, and evaluate the performance of FSQ Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians. Schedule and manage work and training of FSQ Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians. Coordinate on-the-job training for FSQ Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians. Support the VP of Food Safety & Quality in developing and executing FSQ strategies. Manage and lead the execution of departmental FSQ strategic initiatives. Provide regulatory support for the site regarding FDA, USDA, SQF, Customer Requirements, and internal requirements. Manage the tracking, analysis, improvement, and communications of KPIs for the site. Serve as a key member of the manufacturing site Food Safety Team. Provide guidance and technical leadership across

HACCP, GMP, CIP

Management, and Internal Audit teams. Oversee aseptic validation events for packaging, processing, and filling. Manage the relationship with Process Authority. Drive compliance of GMP program. Provide technical support and leadership in resolving CAPA reports related to process deviations, hold events, and customer complaints. Lead and develop training resources for Food Safety training programs. Support Change Control activities with technical and managerial expertise. Provide technical support for FSQ aspects of product/package-related projects. Coordinate monitoring, verification, validation, and effectiveness of Sanitation Controls and Allergen Controls practices. Document standard operating procedures and work instructions as needed. Lead investigations and disposition of hold events for raw and finished products. Contribute to and lead 3rd party Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory audits and inspections. Resolve CAPA reports from 3rd party Food Safety and Regulatory audits and inspections. Manage positive release processes for ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products. Provide technical guidance to enhance accuracy and completeness of records for Positive Release processes. Support Supplier Quality Management in approving, assessing compliance, and managing supplier performance. Ensure availability, accuracy, and completeness of electronic records. Develop, implement, and improve real-time auditing approaches to Food Safety and Quality records. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills BS in Food Science, Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry. Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety within the food or beverage industries. Experience in people management. Knowledge of aseptic processing and packaging of food or beverage products. Experience in food or beverage testing and laboratory operations. Experience in microbiological testing/commercial sterility testing of aseptic food or beverages. Experience in developing and implementing Quality, Food Safety, and GMP programs and systems. Training in HACCP. Ability to enforce Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in people leadership, coaching, and team building. Ability to adapt to changing operational and organizational needs. Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Additional Skills & Qualifications Practical experience in developing and implementing Quality, Food Safety, and GMP programs and systems. Practical experience and training in HACCP. Demonstrated knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and team building experience. Work Environment This role frequently exposes you to wet and varying temperature conditions between 60-130 degrees Fahrenheit, loud noise, vibration, moving machinery/electrical parts, risk of electrical shock, airborne particles, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, allergens including soy, milk and milk by-products, and fumes from food processing.
