Job Responsibilities
The person in this position, under the Director of Transportation’s guidance, the Training Coordinator will assess training needs by consulting the Office of Transportation leadership staff and district leaders. This assessment will focus on industry-specific, position-based, and timely requirements that align with best practices, agency policies, guidelines, and regulations. Based on this data, the Training Coordinator will develop and/or coordinate training resources for Area Supervisors, County Supervisors, Shop Foremen, Driver Trainers, other SCDE transportation staff, and District Directors and Supervisors. These training initiatives will promote best practices for safe and efficient student transportation operations. The coordinator will also provide training and coordination services for SCDE Office of Transportation operational related policies and procedures. Additionally, they will conduct current job analyses through data collection to identify critical functions, required completion times, and necessary resources for each position. Provide training, training coordination, consultation, and support to bus shop leadership leading to best practices that promote efficient bus shop operations and district liaison services; perform job analysis and develop or coordinate training materials and instructional manuals to address the multiple roles and duties of County Supervisors; coordinate EPMS training for County Supervisors and Shop Foremen; facilitate and assist in training County Supervisors in district scheduling, routing, use of school buses, computer applications, and other relevant bus shop responsibilities. Coordinate training needs with District Transportation Directors, Managers, and Supervisors, as well as the SCDE’s Directors of Maintenance, Routing, and Driver Training. This coordination supports school bus transportation programs, including, but not limited to routing policy, annual statewide routing plans, additional bus requests, and other critical training needs or resources. Develop and prepare computer application reports to be used in summary reports on training needs and resources; presents training evaluation reports for development of future training plans for the office, districts, and shops. Support County Supervisors and central office staff with data gathering, evaluation, and report creation as it relates to the statewide school bus operations program and the school bus route training and monitoring program, including, but not limited to, computer applications, route approvals, route analysis, audits, and reporting. Perform other duties as directed by the Director of the Office of Transportation.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.
Additional Comments
Some overnight travel may be required.
