ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Report directly to the EHS Director, with a dashed line to the Plant Manager Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and stay current with any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Drive programs such as a Safety Committee Meetings, Stop-Work-for-Safety, Safety Rule of the Month, etc., to enhance and empower employee engagement and participation Work closely with operations personnel to conduct risk and hazard assessments of all equipment and work practices Assist with the development of EHS related policies, standards and procedures Assist with the design, implementation, and documentation of required EHS training Work closely with operations personnel to design, implement, and conduct safety walk-throughs, routine EHS audits, including the identification of targeted corrective actions and preventative counter measures Work closely with operations leadership to investigate all EHS Incidents as they occur and ensure all documentation is complete, including targeted corrective actions and counter measures Establish and maintain safety bulletin boards and informational postings. Work closely with personnel in all departments to discuss training needs, incidents, program development, and strategic goals, e.g., VPP Star Certification
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5 to 7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment CSP or ability to, and interest in, obtaining CSP or similar certification Working knowledge of all pertinent OSHA Standards, EPA regulations, NIOSH limits, and NFPA Strong computer skills Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse and changing work force Must be effective as both an individual contributor, and in team setting; Strong project management skills with effective adherence to deadlines and targets.
