In the role of Traffic Safety Project Manager, we’ll count on you to: Provide coordination and oversight for the production of multi-disciplinary safety projects including roadway, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals and traffic management system design plans; intersection design; capacity and signal warrant analyses; and all aspects of an Intelligent Traffic Sub-systems.
Provide oversight and participate in preparation of construction bid packages and other procurements. Provide oversight and participate in safety analysis and planning, both at a statewide, regional, and local level. Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in traffic safety while planning and developing projects or design activities that have significant impact on major programs.
Organize, schedule, and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
Serve as program manager and/or project manager for HSIP safety programs and individual projects, as needed. Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree
10 years’ experience in traffic safety
Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license or AICP Certification
Previous experience working with State DOT Previous experience working with Highway Safety Improvement Program
Proficiency with Highway Safety Manual (HSM) methodologies, safety planning and analytical techniques including safe system, systemic analysis, countermeasure selection and application, safety effectiveness analysis, statistical analysis in support of safety analyses, data compilation and management in support of safety analyses, safety analysis to support project evaluation and selection on transportation planning and engineering project. Knowledge of regulations of state and federal transportation agencies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project #LI-BC2
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field
7 years related experience
A minimum of 2 years project management experience
Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
