GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Safety and Security Manager is responsible for the administration of the Airline Ground Handling (AGH), Cargo, FBO, and GSE divisions of the Safety Management System (SMS) program. This position supports operational leaders by monitoring safety issues, providing safety education, and investigating incidents and accidents. The person in this role will act as a resident expert on safety matters, help to develop loss control standards, and make recommendations to improve safety in the workplace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the Safety Management System (SMS) program and for overall safety. Ensure the safety program elements are carried out. Review and analyze all hazards, present feedback to management. Make recommendations to mitigate identified safety issues. Manage implementation of corrective and preventative actions as needed or required. Monitor compliance with applicable regulatory safety standards (FAA, TSA, FDA, OSHA). Proactively research hazards for possible solutions or industry lessons learned. Monitors Safety and Security trends in the Stations. Provide regular reports to management on program status and compliance. Routinely travel to TDA Locations to promote safety and security. Conduct safety incident investigations in junction with station management. Publish and review educational safety material such as Monthly Safety Meetings and Workshops. Act as liaison with safety organizations (formal and informal) on matters of industry safety concerns. Request assistance when needed from Safety and Security Managers and/or Director. Support the development of safety training content for delivery in the
