On-Site Health & Safety Officer Sher Contracting LLC Elmore, AL Sher Contracting LLC is seeking a qualified and experienced On-Site Health & Safety Officer to oversee and enforce health and safety standards across our construction job sites. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among all employees and subcontractors.
Description Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of active job sites to ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standards Develop and implement site-specific safety protocols, risk assessments, and emergency response plans Lead on-site safety trainings, toolbox talks, and safety orientations for all personnel Monitor job sites to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices Investigate and document all incidents, near misses, and safety violations; recommend and follow up on corrective actions Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety activities, training sessions, and regulatory documentation Act as the main point of contact for all safety-related issues and collaborate with project management to improve safety performance across projects
Qualifications:
Valid OSHA 30-Hour Certification for the Construction Industry Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED 3-5 years of experience in a dedicated health and safety role, preferably in construction or industrial environments Ability and willingness to travel to job sites across the country for extended periods as needed Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Why Join Sher Contracting LLC?
