113341 Your Opportunity as the Senior Specialist, Health, Safety and Environmental You will be able to lead and contribute in meaningful ways at our new McCalla, AL facility, where we produce the well-known Uncrustables sandwiches. With support of the HS&E Team, you will support the development, implementation, and administration of our plant’s safety and environmental programs and policies in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.

100% onsite In this role you will: Ensure that an environment of continuous improvement is pursued in the development of health, safety, and environmental systems Build technical knowledge and insight to Federal, State and Local laws and regulations, and company standards for personnel, plant and environmental, health and safety Support the implementation of the HS&E strategy and master plan for the entirety of the McCalla facility Administer safety and environmental programs and/or trainings at the facility Develop relationships with various operations departments to understand processes and potential hazards associated with their equipment and day-to-day responsibilities Ensure plant safety and environmental inspections are executed, safety risks are being eliminated, and employees are following safe work practices Lead and serve as a training resource for the incident investigation process Coach departments on investigating and reporting work-related incidents, injuries, first-aids, and near misses and ensure investigations and follow-ups are complete Maintain metrics for safety and environmental monthly reporting Serve as alternate emergency contact and severe weather coordinator for environmental and safety emergencies Coordinate materials for the McCalla site audits related to safety and/or environmental standards and regulations Maintain all OSHA recordkeeping requirements and serve as alternate host for OSHA Compliance visits The Right Place for You We are bold, kind, strive to do the right thing, we play to win, and we believe in a strong community that thrives together. What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a safety or environmental related field 3+ years’ experience in a safety and/or environmental role Experience working in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (including

OSHA, ADEM, EPA

) Strong communication and leadership skills with a proven ability to influence and direct others Ability to prioritize work in a high demand work environment and effectively manage projects to completion Strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to be decisive, proactive and strategic in decision making Proven ability to implement changes in an operational environment Computer literacy and proficiency in plant systems as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Willingness to work flexible hours to best meet the needs of the business Ability to physically navigate the manufacturing floor to conduct assessments and reviews Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role: Experience working in food manufacturing or a consumer packaged goods facility Learn more about working at
