This is a permanent, full-time position as a Crash Technician in the Crash Investigation Sampling System , a program funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). Work closely with police, hospitals, insurance companies, and salvage yards to gather crucial crash information. Help uncover safety trends that guide life-saving improvements in vehicle design.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze police crash reports. Conduct interviews with vehicle occupants involved in crashes. Collect and securely handle sensitive documents and data. Maintain meticulous records and files. Continue learning about emerging vehicle safety issues through ongoing training.
Position Requirements:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Licensing:
A clean, valid driver’s license.
Skills:
Basic proficiency with digital cameras, Windows-based computers, and Microsoft Office tools.
Background:
Ability to pass a USDOT background check to obtain security clearance.
Work Conditions:
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
