The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting a safe work environment by implementing and monitoring safety policies and procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations, as well as the ability to conduct training sessions and develop safety programs. The Safety Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and other relevant regulations. Responsibilities Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with EHS regulations. Provide training on safety protocols, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to employees. Assist in the development of training materials and programs related to occupational health and safety. Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and workers’ compensation laws. Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and training sessions. Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization. Requirements Strong knowledge of EHS principles, workers’ compensation law, OSHA regulations, and EPA guidelines. Experience in first aid and CPR certification is preferred. Familiarity with occupational health practices and risk assessment methodologies. Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail. Ability to develop effective training programs tailored to various audiences. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications or degrees in Occupational Safety or related fields are a plus.
