POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting with the completion of the Food Safety & Sanitation programs and activities at the plant level. The scope of the position involves building and improving on sanitation programs which will prevent defects. This position provides daily leadership to Sanitation technicians and is responsible for successful coordination of task completion and communication between cross-functional departments. Must be willing to work a 12-hour Day shift of- 2-2-3 shift rotation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and train the Sanitation Technicians as they execute their daily tasks relating to sanitation activities and practices. Oversee the execution of corrective and preventive actions relative to sanitation & pest control.
Ensure the completion of sanitation/janitorial/special project tasks for full-time, temporary, and contracted personnel.
Direct staff to execute pre-operative and post-operative cleaning and sanitation practices.
Collaborate with the food safety team to correct deficiencies within the environmental monitoring program. Provide input on the development of SSOPs.
Organize sanitation activities with third-party pest control operators.
Ensure adequate inventory is maintained for chemicals, supplies, and equipment regarding sanitation tasks. Participate in the development and improvement of the facility’s sanitation programs. Work within proper environmental and hazardous waste disposal requirements. Represent the department within cross-functional plant teams to assist and make recommendations for sanitation activities throughout the facility. Assume additional related responsibilities as necessary.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education High school diploma or GED required Experience At least 2 years of sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment. 1 year of food manufacturing experience is preferred. Previous sanitation experience in food industry is preferred Physical Demands Able to climb ladders and perform tasks on a ladder or at heights
Ability to operate powered equipment (Fork Trucks / Scissor Lifts)
Ability to operate forklift, floor scrubber and other janitorial equipment
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
Push / Pull up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
Ability to work outside in all types of weather
Able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time Other Mandatory overtime may be required, occasionally with short notice
Occasional seven-day weeks
Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection required
Must adhere to strict attendance policy
Physically demanding position
Practicing under Good Manufacturing Practices and Regulatory Food Safety Program
Must have desire to work in constantly changing, progressive environment
Must be able to manage a quality staff and direct work activities
Able to communicate with all levels of factory personnel
