Job Summary:
The EHS Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves conducting safety audits, training employees, and promoting a culture of workplace safety to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance & Program Management Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and report findings to management. Ensure compliance with hazardous material handling, waste disposal, and emergency response protocols. Training & Employee Engagement Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazard communication, PPE use, fire prevention, and emergency response. Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees in safety initiatives and encouraging hazard reporting. Develop and maintain safety training materials and documentation. Incident Investigation & Risk Mitigation Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective measures. Work with management to develop strategies for reducing workplace hazards and improving safety performance. Ensure that incident reports are completed accurately and timely. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting Keep up to date with changes in EHS regulations and ensure the company remains compliant. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies as needed. Assist in developing emergency response plans and conducting drills.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred) 2+ years of experience in EHS or safety-related roles Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements Strong communication and training skills Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Certification in First Aid, CPR, or OSHA 30-hour training (preferred)
Work Environment:
May require working in industrial, construction, or office settings Occasional travel to different worksites may be required Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats when necessary
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$60,073.00 – $80,000.00 per year
