The incumbent will perform safety activitiesincluding site safety assessments, safety policy/program development,and safety training development and delivery. In performing such duties,a Safety Specialist will provide support to clients and CTEH projectmanagers in the areas of safety, compliance, risk assessment, andemergency response. The successful candidate will apply best practicesand compliance requirements for safety to ensure CTEH and client’sexpectations are met. A successful candidate will be able to demonstratethe ability to manage projects with minimal guidance and providetraining to CTEH employees and client’s employees as directed orrequested. All Safety Specialists shall maintain a response bag withrequired PPE and appropriate clothing and be subject to on-call rotation24/7 for emergency response and frequent, extended travel. This positionwill report to the Safety Supervisor. This is a career track opportunitythat can start at an entry level with advancement to senior levels,commensurate with experience and education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Provide corporate health and safety support in the prevention of injuries and illnesses
- Provide corporate health and safety support to maintain regulatory and client safety compliance
- Immediate availability for extended travel and emergency response at client’s request or in support of TERP
- Perform duties safely to minimize threats to self and others in work settings with potential chemical, physical, biological, and safety hazards
- Perform (with minimal guidance) site safety activities, including, but not limited to, safety briefings and preparation/review of project
- or site-specific health and safety plans
- Provide support to CTEH project managers in the areas of safety, compliance, risk assessment and emergency response with minimal direction
- Understand and explain the basic and with minimal guidance, the advanced concepts of anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazards to workers, the general public, and the environment
- Demonstrable ability to solve problems and make accurate and informed decisions regarding safety with minimal guidance
- Demonstrate understanding of compliance and training laws and regulations including preparing presentations and conducting training
- Support other service areas as assigned and under the appropriate supervision
- Perform all duties according to the ethics of the Safety profession
- Demonstrate a professional attitude toward our clients, customers and co-workers which reflects favorably upon the company

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene or
- Bachelor’s degree in a related science field (chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, toxicology, etc.) and completion of an approved safety regulation course within one year of employment
