SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of technical and professional job responsibilities related to the management of food safety and quality expectations at Tyson Foods’ contract manufacturers. Specific responsibilities include assessing contract manufacturer suitability and compliance to Tyson requirements. Developing working relationships with our external partners to manage consistent conformance to specifications, regulatory requirements and food safety guidelines. Analyzing and resolving food safety and/or quality issues, product disposition decisions, innovation and documentation compliance in the FoodLogiQ system. This position serves as a food safety and quality resource for the Contract Manufacturing team and is critical in monitoring compliance of external locations through onsite assessments and reporting. The position requires a strong working knowledge of diverse plant processes and associated risks. The person must have the ability to collaborate with multiple other departments such as R D and the Business Unit representatives, while driving activities centered around overall improvements in plant performance. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of FSQA – Contract Manufacturing. This position will be based in WHQ in Springdale, AR and supports a number of domestic co-man locations. This Team Member will be expected to be on-site at the co-man locations up to 40% of the time working directly with the facility teams on compliance to Tyson FSQA Expectations. The position will also partner with Tyson Business Partners such as R D, IPL, Sales, and the BU to communicate on-site activities and support business growth as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

3 plus years’ experience; significant experience in food safety quality assurance and regulatory compliance; management experience in the manufacture of high-risk foods and their processes preferred.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in the following Microsoft products: Excel, Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of various Tyson business software programs.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in addition to strong presentation skills. Position will be responsible for effective communication for both internal and external partners at a variety of levels.

Special Skills:

Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be an independent worker capable of consistent engagement geared towards driving results.

Travel:

Up to 40% travel required. Relocation assistance may be available to candidates that qualify according to the Tyson Relocation Policy.
