Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking an Air & Multi-Media Permitting & Compliance Specialist to lead and deliver environmental permitting and compliance solutions to commercial, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, power, and other industrial clients in the Northeast. The position includes management and completion of permitting and compliance projects through each stage of our client’s facility life cycle including business and property acquisition due diligence, air permitting and compliance, industrial facility operational compliance, auditing, environmental assessment/evaluation, and facility decommissioning and divestiture. Compliance projects may include program assistance for environmental laws, regulations and permitting associated with, but not limited to, Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Oil Pollution Act (OPA) spill planning, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Your Key Responsibilities Manage and lead environmental compliance, permitting, and related projects for a variety of industrial clients in the Northeast. Serve as a technical resource on environmental compliance and permitting, including but not limited to: Regulatory analyses of facility operations; Managing efforts to complete and maintain required regulatory reports; Correcting compliance deficiencies; Regulatory compliance assessments and audits at client facilities. Assist clients in the development and execution of Environmental Management Systems, including appropriate documentation and continuous improvement. Lead development of permitting and compliance strategies on projects. Assist clients in identifying appropriate monitoring, planning, training, testing, record-keeping, and reporting protocols. Meet client needs via meetings, proposal development, maintaining client relationships, and passionate client service. Maintain professional affiliations with outside organizations to stay abreast of environmental regulatory requirements and potential changes to federal and states rules. Work with other Stantec project managers and leaders on strategic pursuits within the company and region Develop proposals and manage projects to meet client’s scope, schedule, budget, profit expectations to meet project deliverables. Meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Provide quality assurance/quality control of project deliverables. ”  Your Capabilities and Credentials A qualified candidate will have direct relevant experience supporting or leading all aspects of environmental compliance, including but not limited to: air quality compliance, due diligence, auditing, and compliance assurance; environmental management systems (EMS) and ISO; EHS procedures development and training; stormwater, wastewater, chemical management, bulk liquid storage, and waste management. Strong understanding of EPA and state agency management rules and regulations, include

CAA, CWA, EPCRA/SARA

Title 3, RCRA, CERCLA (release reporting), DOT (Haz. Material Transportation), and other Federal laws and regulatory requirements. Travel may be required for the purpose of conducting EHS assessments, on-site EHS support, or for off-site meetings with clients and/or regulatory agencies (up to 20%). Practical ability to analyze technical data, perform research, demonstrate technical knowledge, and problem solve. Strong organizational and communications skills (able to communicate solutions in writing, verbally and graphically). Straightforward, hard (but smart) working, client-dedicated, and practical approach. Participation in EHS audits to local, state, and federal regulations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Environmental and Safety Compliance Officer (CESCO), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or the like is preferred. Prior to and/or during employment, this position may require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Education and Experience A BS in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Minimum of 6 years related experience. Previous consulting and project management experience are preferred. Direct communication with clients and client management skills. Capable of promoting Stantec and discussing all our service offerings with a wide range of clients and/or prospective clients. Experience in electronic manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and industrial sector projects. Power generation and mining experience is beneficial. Field experience is mandatory, with preference for industrial EHS compliance experience and environmental assessment implementation and oversight. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
