The Role:

Chapel Haven Schleifer Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Overnight Community Safety Coordinator to provide overnight support to individuals in both residential and community safety settings. This vital role ensures the safety, well-being, and comfort of our community members during overnight hours. The Overnight Community Safety Coordinator is responsible for monitoring residential environments, responding to any concerns or incidents, and maintain clear communication with team members to support a smooth transition between shifts. This position requires a calm, attentive presence and the ability to make sound decisions while working independently overnight. Essential Responsibilities:

Monitor after-hours phone to aid families and staff in CATCH, Bridge, and SLP programs. Provide in-person support to adults in residences across on-campus programs and in the community as requested by the administrator on call / families / adult-served or in emergencies. Conduct building rounds as outlined by supervisor. Monitor cameras and utilize walkie-talkie systems to alert multiple departments of emergencies or suspicious activities. Communicate with overnight staff from all residential programs at the beginning and ending of each shift. Maintain an active DDS Medication Certification. Pass medications to adults served as needed. Appropriately document all incidents and communications within the required database. Communicate incidents to assigned Support Coordinators, Program Directors, and Quality Assurance. Log and report billable hours at the end of every shift. Attend all department and agency-wide staff meetings. Maintain compliance with agency and department-specific training / protocols as required. Communicating with Families as needed Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Education Requirements:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Services or related field.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work and problem-solve in heightened situations independently. Ability to prioritize tasks, incidents and coordinate as appropriate Experience working with adults with cognitive disabilities and/or special needs. Effective judgement, decision-making and communication skills. Maintain positive working relationships with students, families, staff. Cultural sensitivity and proven ability to work with diverse populations. Adaptable to the flexible nature of the position. Maintain in-service requirements as mandated by Chapel Haven Schleifer Center and department supervisor. Valid CT driver’s license. Do not meet every single requirement?
