General Description:
We are looking for a Construction Safety Coordinator to join our team in South Florida. This position works with Superintendents and Project Managers to administer, direct, and implement compliance with company’s safety and health policies and procedures and Federal and State safety and health regulations. This position is responsible for the overall safety procedures on a project specific level.
Qualifications and Requirements:
US work authorizationHigh school degree or equivalent.5+ years of related work experience in field of Construction Health and Safety.
Preferred certification:
OSHA 30CPR
CertificationAED CertificationFirst Aid CertificationStrong planning and organizing skills.
Excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally.
Clear decision-making ability.
Proven injury management experience.
Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred.
Responsibilities:
The Construction Safety Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
Developing measures to assure personnel safety.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
The Construction Safety Coordinator maintains awareness of active and developing situations.
Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the operations daily work-plan.
Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas.
Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP).Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.
Follow up on the implementation of toolbox meetings.
The construction safety coordinator reviews and approves all subcontractors safety plans.
Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to related government agencies.
Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
Promotes safe practices at the job site.
Enforces safety guidelines.
Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
Implement safety measurements/metrics for tracking and reporting safety performanceConduct new hire safety orientations.
