Athletic Safety Coordinator Jefferson Schools K-12 Monticello, FL 32344 Job Overview The Athletic Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all employees. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs that adhere to federal, state, and local regulations. The Athletic Safety Coordinator will work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and health within the organization. Duties Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards. Provide training on safety protocols, including first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures. Investigate workplace incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance issues. Collaborate with management to develop strategies for reducing workplace injuries and illnesses. Maintain records related to workers’ compensation claims and ensure compliance with workers’ compensation laws. Stay updated on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and ensure organizational adherence. Facilitate communication between employees regarding safety concerns and initiatives. Skills Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) principles. Proficient in report writing with the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively. Experience in conducting root cause analysis for workplace incidents. Knowledge of workers’ compensation processes and laws. Ability to fabricate solutions to improve workplace safety conditions. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of staff.
