The Fire Watch will be responsible for monitoring the work area, identifying potential fire hazards, and taking immediate action to prevent fires. This position requires vigilance, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Duties Monitor designated areas for signs of fire or smoke during hot work activities. Maintain a clear line of sight with workers engaged in hot work. Use fire extinguishing equipment effectively to control small fires if they occur. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to the supervisor. Conduct regular checks of fire safety equipment and ensure it is readily accessible. Document observations and any incidents that occur during the shift. Assist in the implementation of fire prevention measures and safety protocols. Experience Previous experience in a safety-related role is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with fire safety protocols and emergency response procedures is advantageous. Strong observational skills and attention to detail are essential. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors. Certification in fire safety or related training is a plus but not required.
