The function of the Sprinkler/Fire Alarm System Inspector Level 2 is to aid in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of all water-based fire protection system types to include intermediate field coordination, planning, and expediting of inspection and service orders and communication of job status’ to key AFPS staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

: Timely and efficient performance of inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based systems with direct supervision, Load and handle materials and equipment Coordinate with monitoring companies, fire department, and other authorities to avoid false alarms and unreported true alarms Requisition materials and equipment anticipating future needs Service systems per manufacturers maintenance manual, the law, and the adopted Standards of the National Fire Protection Association Complete follow-up documentation Prepare proposals Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with not more than 75% supervision

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC

HS Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver’s License Ability to be insured on company automobile insurance Acceptable background check and drug screening Florida certified as Water Based System Inspector NICET Level II, fire sprinkler layout or ITM Program BASA and FASA 2 years in related fire protection OR 3 years’ experience in similar industry

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to calculate basic hydraulic calculations, basic algebra, spacing requirements and material take offs Intermediate knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA, and other regulations pertaining to the job Intermediate knowledge of fire and sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and alarm panels Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner Basic computer and software skills The ability to communicate in English Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long and Short Term Disability, 401(k) with Company match and paid time off.
