Position Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Safety Technician to join our team at the Miami Job Corps Center. This role plays a key part in supporting our center’s health and safety efforts, helping ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, center policies, and Job Corps safety requirements. The ideal candidate will be proactive and committed to promoting a culture of safety for both students and staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

+ Support the administration of center-wide safety and occupational health programs in accordance with Job Corps, DOL, and Adams and Associates policies. + Conduct regular safety inspections in classrooms, dormitories, dining facilities, training areas, and grounds. + Monitor fire safety systems, conduct monthly fire drills, and support emergency preparedness efforts. + Identify hazards, document findings, and work with departments to implement corrective actions. + Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and safety training. + Participate in investigations of accidents and incidents; assist with root cause analysis and follow-up. + Help develop and deliver training for staff and students on safety topics including first aid, hazard communication, and proper PPE usage. + Support OSHA compliance and assist during any audits or inspections. + Promote positive student behavior and reinforce center rules and policies. Qualifications Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree in Occupational Safety or related field (preferred). + Minimum one year of relevant experience in safety, facilities, or emergency response. + Familiarity with OSHA standards, fire and life safety codes, and workplace hazard identification. + Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including young adults. + Strong organizational and documentation skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. + CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record “Adams and Associates, Inc. abides by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
