Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Suppression Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and compliance of kitchen fire suppression systems across various establishments, including restaurants, cafeterias, and hotels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Conduct detailed inspections and maintenance of suppression systems to ensure functionality and compliance with all local, state, and national fire codes. Install new fire suppression systems according to manufacturer specifications and local regulations. Troubleshoot and repair faults in fire suppression systems, including electrical and mechanical components. Educate and train staff at client locations on the proper use and maintenance of the fire suppression systems. Prepare and maintain detailed service reports and documentation for each inspection or service call. Coordinate with fire inspectors and other safety personnel for system approvals and certifications. Stay updated with the latest fire protection technologies and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Required Certification from a recognized fire protection body Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to educate and engage with clients effectively Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, which may include lifting heavy equipment and working in tight spaces Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in fire suppression systems or a related field Strong understanding of NFPA standards, especially NFPA 96 and
NFPA 17A
